The Ipswich Museum, originally founded in 1890 as the Ipswich Historical Society, is headquartered in the beautiful 1800 Heard House on South Main Street. The museum also owns the 1677 Whipple House located on the opposite side of the street. Both properties give visitors a view into the lives of early residents of Ipswich. Also offered at the museum are tours, exhibits, educational programs, art classes, and lectures.
