Amini Protests

Protests erupt throughout Iran after the death of Mahsa Amini who passed away in a hospital under suspicious circumstances. The Guidance patrol, the religious morality police, arrested Amini for not wearing a hijab and stated that she suffered a heart attack while in police custody. Eyewitness reports claim that she was instead severely beaten and died as a result of police brutality resulting in one of the country’s most widespread series of protests.
