Former United States President Donald Trump is found guilty on thirty-four counts of falsifying business records in order to hide damaging personal information from being released prior to the 2016 election. Trump’s former attorney Michael Cohen sent adult film star Stormy Daniels $130,000 in exchange for her silence about an affair the two had several years prior. Throughout the proceedings, the former president maintained that he was innocent.
