Reports of over one million Uyghurs being held in counter-extremism centers in China is presented to the United Nations Committee on Human Rights. A recognized ethnic minority group of primarily Muslim faith, the Uyghurs have been subjected to persecution and abuse by the Chinese government for several years. The true extent of such actions is unknown but include forced sterilization and detainment in internment camps labeled as counter-extremism schools.
